Kim Brannon
Senior Director – Nonprofit Management & Leadership
Kim served as The United Methodist Church’s North Texas Conference Lay Leader from 2020 through 2024. She enjoyed working with conference clergy and lay leadership in various roles, including strategic planning, training, conflict transformation, Board of Laity chairship, and cabinet representation. During this tenure on the Bishop’s cabinet, she represented laity during times of significant change: denominational schism, which led to the disaffiliation of 19 percent of North Texas churches and the unification of the North Texas Conference with two others to form the Horizon Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church. She continues to consult with the Horizon Texas Conference.
She has provided significant volunteer leadership on the boards of directors of local nonprofit organizations and chaired special events. She has served as board chair or president of four nonprofits and founded one nonprofit. As president of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League, she raised nearly $1 million for arts education and outreach and currently serves on the Advisory Committee of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League.
She chaired the Project Transformation North Texas board during the 2009 economic recession, leading in creative and fiscally adaptive ways. She currently serves on the Leadership Advisory Council of Project Transformation North Texas. Her 25-year involvement with Project Transformation as a volunteer, board member, board chair, and Leadership Advisory Council member reflects her passion for community and dedication to mission. She served as vice president of finance for CC Young Senior Living: Body Mind Spirit Connection and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League. In addition, she founded and manages Beulah Voigt Memorial Scholarship, Inc., which awards annual college scholarships in memory of her late grandmother.
Early in her career, Kim worked in corporate and marketing communications for TechLaw environmental consulting and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. She wrote healthcare proposals and environmental reports, supported litigation efforts, and managed data systems.
She holds a BA in History from The University of Texas at Austin and an MA in Dispute Resolution and Conflict Management from Southern Methodist University. Kim and her husband Joe are active members of University Park United Methodist Church, where Kim is currently serving as the United Women in Faith president. They enjoy traveling, hiking, visiting their grown children, and exploring food, wine, and culture together.
